About me.
I am a DC-area native and proud child of two enlisted Air Force service members.
I earned an A.B. in English Literature from Princeton University, which I attended on a full ROTC scholarship. I also hold a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where I was a Dean’s Scholar (Georgetown University scholarship) and Funded Legal Education Program Scholar (Air Force Scholarship).
My career began as an active-duty Air Force officer. Over a decade, I excelled in assignments in Latin America, Viriginia, and the Washington, DC area, including earning a law degree and becoming a JAG. Following my medical retirement from the Air Force, I entered private legal practice as a litigator.
I returned to national security issues as an Obama Administration appointee at the Pentagon. I worked in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy on weapons policy and mass atrocities prevention. I was also Special Assistant to the Army General Counsel, providing legal advice on crises of the moment and supporting policy making on issues like cyber warfare, accommodations for transgender inmates, and e-discovery. After the end of the Administration, I worked on foreign and international litigation in the Office of Legal Counsel, Office of the Department of Defense General Counsel.
I then transitioned to the tech sector, joining Facebook as a Policy Communications Manager to draft messaging and conduct media outreach regarding issues like civil rights, privacy, and election activities. I was also a Policy Manager for the Mid-Atlantic Region for Airbnb, analyzing state and local regulations and advocating the company’s positions to lawmakers and stakeholders. Most recently, I joined Match Group as its Policy Communications Director, responsible for developing messaging related to government relations, privacy, safety, and diversity and inclusion.
In my free time, I enjoy reading voraciously, listening to podcasts, and trying new recipes. I also practice karate, including full-contact sparring.
I live with my wonderful husband, vivacious son, and obnoxious dog. We like camping, biking, game night with friends, and volunteering.
